![]() OK, so maybe you don't have to throw out your case, but if it's more than a month or two old, chances are that it's developed some cracking and wear. Try not to let your device get too wet and definitely don't scrub around openings where you could introduce lint or moisture buildup. Use that to wipe down your iPhone and its case (but only if it's hard plastic). ![]() Instead, use an Apple-recommended pack 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes (if you can find either). And you'd be right! But if you spray it on your iPhone you're going to destroy the surface coatings and end up with a completely destroyed device. Same goes for bleach or any kind of abrasive cleaner. You might think that bathroom tile cleaner does an amazing job of disinfecting your bathroom. But don't grab Lysol (or any aerosol-based cleaner). Now you can grab a cleaner and go to town on your iPhone. ![]() Step 3 - Wipe It Down (But Make It Cleaner) Even if your iPhone is waterproof, adding liquid to the surface of your iPhone will almost certainly result in you pushing anything you float off the surface into deep crevices like your charging port or speaker screen.Ībove all things - don't use compressed air! Compressed air will just push everything deeper into crevices. When you wipe it down, make sure your iPhone isn't plugged in, gunk will just accumulate around the charging cable. ![]()
